The YMCA at Camp Arroyo’s Outdoor Environmental Education program helps students learn more about their environment and sustainable living while they learn about themselves as well.  When students get their hands dirty, they learn more than a text book alone can teach them. Our curriculum, developed by the East Bay Regional Park District, meets the California State Education Standards for science education.

Given tight education budgets, many students and schools would not be able to enjoy a memorable experience at Camp Arroyo without the support of our community partners and organizations that provide campership funds.  Thanks to the East Bay Regional Parks Foundation, StopWaste.org and The Taylor Family Foundation, hundreds of students who would not otherwise be able to, get to experience Camp Arroyo.

But even more schools need funding!  Your support can help us provide this enriching experience to even more students and help keep our fees as low as possible to enable more students to attend.

$50       buys seeds for new crop of veggies and tools for students to work in our organic garden
